Downstairs Ballroom of the Coosa Country Club
Cost: $11.00

Program: Musical presentation by students from Darlington School
Menu: Pulled BBQ Pork, Grilled Chicken, Cole Slaw, Green Beans, Potato Salad, Ice Cream Sundae Bar
Reservations: Please note: everyone pays for lunch, guests included. If you or a guest cannot attend, please call Judy McDade as soon as possible. Members are billed for their missed lunch (unless it is due to a personal or family emergency); guests are not billed for missed lunches. Plan to arrive promptly so that the treasurer can be in her seat by 11:45 a.m.
Concerning Your Reservation: Keep in mind that the deadline is always “Sunday at 5”. For two months in a row, we’ve had 10 no-shows, and we are charged $11.00 for each of those 10 reservations that were made. If you are one of those 10, you will receive a copy of the RSVP you sent saying that you are coming to the luncheon, along with a note from the Treasurer, asking for your payment. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Next Board Meeting
Wed. May 14, 2008

New Romans’ Board meeting – Wednesday,May 14, 1:30-3:00 p.m. at Sara Hightower Library (Rome) in the Oostanaula Room. Anyone who is interested in being involved with the board is welcome to attend these planning meetings. Please email Carolyn Carpino if you would like to attend. Carolyn will email you the agenda and all other materials to be discussed and even save you a chair at the meeting!


Clubs & Groups

Out to Lunch Bunch - May 15th, at 11:30, will be at Shane’s Rib Shack, located behind The Olive Garden at the corner of Turner-McCall Blvd. and Riverside Drive. Promptness is a must for these popular restaurants. If you need more information or directions call Betty K, Linda R or Nina T. Come join us for good time, good talk and good food.

Bunco News - The Bunko Group, hostessed by Jenine Steele, will meet on April 21st. Our new Bunko group is getting ready to start up in the next few weeks. If anyone is interested in joining, it is not too late. Contact Sylvia B by e-mail or call.

Mah Jongg - Mah Jongg is going well; players get better every month. It is a relaxed game with no stress. Please call Sheelah S if you would like more information.

Bridge Clubs – New Romans has two Bridge Clubs with two tables at each. There are also four one-table groups. We are always in need of substitutes so call Marge H or Connie P. The Bridge group of 8 will meet at Kitty J’s on April 11th at 1PM.

New Romans Book Club – The New Romans Book Club is a friendly, talkative group with a common interest in all kinds of books. Will meet every 3rd Wednesday of every month. Come along and share the book of your choice with other members. We will meet at Panera Bread from 3 to 5. All are welcome. For more information please contact Linda A.

Games Night - Game Night will meet on April 26th at Joni and David B’s home. Members are to send in reservations to Connie P at least 5 days prior to Game Night. Please note that there is a limit on the number who can attend this month so reply early! Potential new members are welcome to participate one time only to determine whether they would like to become a permanent part of this group. Contact Connie P.

Dinner Club - Dinner Club will meet Sunday, April 27th, at 3:45 PM at the East Rome Walmart. Park near the highway in Walmart’s parking lot on Hwy 411 and we will carpool to the Steak House in Rockmart. We will leave the Walmart parking lot at 4:00 PM. Contact Kim G if you have any questions.

Photo Club - This is a club for owners of digital cameras and PC computers. This month the Photo Club will be meeting on April 17th at the Village at Maplewood at 10 AM. We will be consolidating our pictures for the “Springtime in Rome” DVD project. Contact Rich C for more details! Also, visit the Photo Club's section of this website.
